Beginning with a herd of just five, The Farrell’s have built up their herd to nearly 100 head of cattle. The Farrell’s began with White-Faced Hereford’s they cross-bred with a French breed known as the Blonde D’Aquitaine. They eventually cross-bred those with the Black Angus bloodlines that are commonly seen today in the fields. At Sunset Farm the beef is raised all-naturally and finished at the optimal time of 28 months. By waiting 28 months, the beef is matured to the best state that cannot be found in commercial grocery stores. The beef truly speaks for itself and is sold to high-end restaurants all across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. There is also an on-site market located right in the barn at Sunset Farm where burgers and steaks can be purchased. The market is open from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm every day from June 1st – October 31st. Some popular items include: The signature 8oz Burger Patty, New York Strips, and the classic Rib-Eye steak that are very popular for outside grilling.
